The Math Factor
We Don't Know the Way Out!
Run Time: 4:06
I decided to post two podcasts today, both of which pit the listener in two different places. One is real, the other imaginary. And both daunting.
Polar Cold focuses on polar adventurer Benedict Allen and his description of how extreme cold infilitrates the body and its subsequent physical and mental effects.
The Math Factor poses a spatial question on how a person trapped in a 50ft by 50ft by 50ft box suspended 100 feet in the air by stilts can escape with only a knife and two 50 foot ropes suspended from the ceiling. The room has one window with a hook at the base of the floor. I know: cut both ropes, tie them together, then lower yourself out. One caveat: you cannot survive a fall of more than ten feet. Enjoy.
